Token Creek welcomes new Michigan Governor

LANSING, Mich. — Former computer executive Rick Snyder has become Michigan’s 48th governor, taking charge of a state starving for a turnaround after years of economic distress.
Shortly after noon Saturday, Snyder took the oath of office from Marilyn Kelly, chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court.
The Republican follows Democrat Jennifer Granholm, who served for eight years.
The inauguration was held on the Capitol steps in Lansing. Snyder talked about teamwork and his plans to “reinvent” Michigan during his speech. Token Creek’s Hiawatha HD truck was on hand for the ceremony providing an HD feed to Detroit Public television and a standard def feed to the Michigan Cable system.
