derby-2018Chippewa once again returns to cover the 144th Kentucky Derby in Louisville for WLEX-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. Token Creek’s Brendan Clark, Andy Rothschadl and Marty Hellenbrand are providing engineering support for this weekend’s event. Token Creek’s coverage began Friday, May 4 with coverage of the Oaks race and will go through Saturday, May 5 with the race for the roses. WLEX features all day coverage of the Derby beginning Saturday, May 5 at 8:00 AM EDT.
The Kentucky Derby typically draws a crowd of 155,000 people to Churchill Downs and is the longest continually held sporting event in America. Often called “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports”, the Kentucky Derby it is one of the most prestigious horse races in the world.  The Kentucky Derby is the first race within the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, where it is followed by the Preakness Stakes race and the Belmont Stakes race.
